SOS Diet Success Stories

On the

Prior to the SOS Diet, I had never been successful on any diet. However, with this program, I have been able to make the minor lifestyle change, and I have adhered to the principles set forth in the SOS Diet for the past 10 years. When I began his SOS Diet, I weighed 196 pounds. Now, a decade later, I tip the scales at 162 pounds. Further, my recent blood tests revealed that my cholesterol levels, along with my other medical test results, are all within the normal range. I heard about the SOS Diet from a friend and came to see Dr. Surrell after I had gained 20 pounds over the past year.  On the advice of others, I had been strictly following a very unsatisfying low-fat diet for about four months.  On this low-fat diet, I actually gained one pound.  I was also experiencing joint pains that started after I went on my low-fat diet. After our brief meeting to discuss his SOS Diet, he recorded my weight and I started the SOS Diet.  He advised me to just forget about the low-fat diet concept.  When I came back in three months, we were both delighted with my results.  I had effortlessly and painlessly lost 16 pounds.  I was back to eating “real food”, and was especially enjoying my return to my favorite breakfast omelets.  Further, after two weeks off the low-fat diet and following the short and simple SOS Diet, my joint pain was gone!  I have truly become a label reading detective and I avoid refined sugar. This is the only diet that has ever worked for me and I continue to follow it and have maintained my weight loss over the past three years. I recently met Dr. Jim through a business partner and was made aware of his SOS Diet.  I told him I really wanted and needed to lose some weight, but that I had never been successful on any diet.  I had been very athletic in school and was now very frustrated with my present weight.  After our brief initial discussion, he pointed out to me the very large amount of sugar I was taking in every day in the form of non-diet soft drinks, sport drinks, and various juice drinks.  We then talked further about the need to avoid the large amounts of sugar found in so many other foods.  I was amazed at the large amount of sugar in various foods and drinks that I previously thought were healthy and good for me.  I immediately switched to diet soft drinks and became a label reading detective.  It was very easy to make this change, and I never really felt that I was “on a diet”.  Did the SOS Diet work for me?  Well, it certainly did, and I lost 19 pounds in the first 8 weeks.  I recently had to go purchase some smaller waist size pants… and that was fun!  For the first time in my life, I finally found a diet I could understand and easily follow.  It was not only easy to get started on the SOS Diet, but it has been a simple lifestyle change that I continue to easily and successfully follow today.— K.G.P.
